On the 29th April 2019 Solicitor, Arnie celebrated his 55th birthday running the London Marathon for SEED.
SEED get a place in the London Marathon every 5 years which seems unbelievable as we compete with the Big Charity names some have around the region of 80 places plus each year.
Arnie met Gemma (SEED’s Patron) and having listened to her speaking about SEED Charity just 6 weeks prior to the event, decided there and then to run for us! Arnie had a ballot place!
Gosh what a 6 weeks it was – ordering shirts , sponsors, fundraising , not to mention the logo’s that need to be right for TKM Shirt Printers in Beverley, dealing with a broken printer. Then there were to logistics to think about and meeting up after. Time was stacking up against us!
A huge thanks to all those people helping to make things happen and finally have everything ready!
After we had seen Arnie run past us twice we headed over to horse guards parade in search of his family.
We had never met them and given it was a cool day we all had coats on over our co-ordinated purple supporter’s polo shirts.
I caught a glimpse of purple and it was like we had known them forever. What a lovely family – it was a pleasure to meet them.
Arnie raised in excess of £12,000 with gift aid! WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!
Thank you form the bottom of our hearts.
This will make a huge difference to our Charity and to those benefitting from the amazing work that we do and the difference that we make.
