We are delighted to announce Hugo Rifkind as a new ambassador for SEED! Manager Gemma Oaten recently was invited on to his Times Radio show to discuss the growing number of those suffering from eating disorders. Gemma says “I was so blown away by Hugo’s understanding and empathy during the interview, not just of eating disorders, but what we at SEED are trying to achieve. It made complete sense to ask him if he would support us further. I am so grateful he said yes! SEED are in a huge transition at the moment with our outreach growing day in day out. It’s a really exciting time for us all, and this news has given us all the more faith that our work matters and we are making a difference.
Hugo Rifkind is a columnist and leader writer for The Times and a presenter on Times Radio. He is also a frequent panellist on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. Born in Edinburgh in 1977, he now lives in London with a wife, two daughters and a dog.
Hugo says -
"I was delighted when Gemma asked me to become an ambassador for SEED after she came on my radio show in late 2020. Why would I not? I'd like to live in a world where the conversation around mental health and eating disorders is open, accessible to all and free from shame, and I completely support SEED's efforts to bring that about."
